Donald Bremner Managing Director

Donald Bremner is an innovative Technology professional with in excess of 17 years expertise, providing technology solutions within the financial sector. His wide experience covers development and operations with a strong business bias backed up with an MBA. Starting as Junior programmer at Warburg's back in 1991, moving Jefferies International in 1994 where he was soon promoted and asked to run Jefferies International IT department (both operations and development) for 8 Years. During this period he enjoyed the variety and challenges of working in a dynamic institutional broker. He was asked to move over to GFI by his counterpart in the States who had left Jefferies two years prior. At GFI, an inter deal broker, he led a small team of developers that had been on the point of leaving and initiated a number of upgrade and integration projects after 7 Years of non investment, as well as a number of front office trading and order routing implementations for credit derivatives Electrical Energy and Equities. He was also employed to act as a conduit for senior management issues in relation to technology as there were rapid changes taking place in systems, processes and controls to facilitate GFI's subsequent IPO. He successfully completed these tasks, and GFI IPO'd in January 2005.  During this period he obtained an MBA with Merit from the London Metropolitan University formally the Guildhall University attending night school for two years, where he was also elected the class representativetwo years in a row and completed a dissertation on flexible working.

Consequently Donald has a wealth of experience in running teams internationally and combining outsourced technology development and vendor solutions with internal teams, putting in place process and controls where applicable. He is an accomplished negotiator but above all a very personable and approachable manager having enjoyed his time at both GFI and Jefferies, especially working alongside his teams with whom he still maintains good contact. His holistic understanding of financial systems and work flow combined with his wide knowledge of instruments, business, marketing, financial requirements and management areconsidered to be a major strength. Having worked in Internationally in France, Hong Kong Switzerland, Japan and the US his international contacts and management skills are a considerable benefit too. After leaving GFI, in 2004, he took a year's sabbatical to enjoy his passions which include traveling hovercrafts, the bag pipes and truffles. He was head hunted to working as a consultant in Japan for Lehman Brothers on a 400+ move project by Eire systems. Whilst also tackling a number of issue as an client facing interim manager for their support team servicing mainly hedge funds.
